The facebook page has been taking the priority unfortunately. I need to keep more up to date with my posts here.
Had AMC comic-con back in October, done a few smaller markets, caricatured at a wedding, exhibited in a Star Wars themed exhibition, also made my pin-up calendar for the third year running, plus been busy with freelance work and commissions.
Armageddon was great fun the other month. Busy with commissions, sold a good selection of prints and Calendars and received lots of great feedback.
My 2015 Calendar still has stock available for sale and this year I've opened an online shop on my facebook artpage. Below is instructions on how to get to it for those who are interested in purchasing it online.
...and here's a piece I recently finished as a request from my daughter-
Hi All,
I'll be exhibiting at Armageddon expo this weekend in Artist alley. I'll have my newly completed 2015 Calendars up for sale as well as prints, postcards and drawing commissions. Swing by Table aa049 and say hello.
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted anything here. The facebook page has taken a bit of a priority as well as general busy-ness with my pin-ups and other stuff.
On an exciting front, I'll be a first time exhibitor at Melbourne's Supanova this weekend (April 12-13). Come and find me in Artist alley at table A038 and say hello
Here's a bit of a sketchdump of work that I've done over the last couple of months that I've neglected to post here-
This one was for my friend Craig Bruyn who's been producing his own comic-
...and a commision portrait piece to cap it all off
Artboy Gallery in Prahran, Melbourne opens its latest fan art exhibition "Greatest Hits" tonight featuring work from its previous eight themes. I've got four pieces in.
The latest Artboy Fan exhibition opens tonight with the theme being horror. I've only entered the one piece this time, I didn't have time to finish Elvira that I posted for Halloween and so I've done "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" the Kristy Swanson version.
Here are my pieces from the latest Artboy Gallery Fanboy exhibition that was up at the Sydney Games Expo on the weekend just gone. Word back from the gallery was that everyone's submissions were well recieved.
The theme was obviously game-based, so here's my interpretations of Ridge Racer's Reiko Nagase and Tomb Raider's Lara Croft. Both are 15" x 12" prints
Thought I'd better post these, having posted photos of the frames pieces.
My contribution to ArtBoy Gallery's Goodies and Baddies exhibition. Both are an edition of ten.
Opening night was packed and over 60 pieces on show.
Looking forward to the next one now...
Okay, so after all the last minute panic my Art Prints have been received, framed and dropped off at the Gallery.
As I've alluded to previously, Artboy Gallery in Prahran, Melbourne has had a series of Fanboy Exhibitions in which Artists are invited to submit pieces based on a theme. I've not managed to finish my pieces by the deadline in the past due to one reason or another, and after the last one promised myself to start earlier. The current theme is "Goodies and Baddies" and I managed to finish not one but two pieces.
The exhibition opens this coming Friday June 15 at 6pm.
Here's a peek of my two pieces...
I've also got something extra which I haven't done before- a screen capture as I was working digitally. It's probably a bit like a magician revealing his secret but anyway... My initial pencil sketches were scanned in and then I worked over them digitally. There's a couple of breaks in the video as I was working on two computers and didn't have the capture software on one of the computers. But it gives you an idea of it all coming together captured at one frame per second.
